Copenhagen based band Blaue Blume returns with a brand new, utterly beautiful song ‘Morgensol’ (Danish for ‘Morning Sun’).
“This is the first song I’ve ever written in my own language“, says singer Jonas Holst Schmidt, “The words came so easy and it felt so natural, that I didn’t want to mess with that. As with first songs this is about something simple. The sun, the wind, the trees, clouds, water, rain. It’s dedicated to the nature that you can hold in the palm of your hand. I think everyone can relate more or less to these moments in time where you feel completely and utterly ruled by greater forces, whether this is in a short glimpse at the sky or when riding a bike and you feel the hailstorm pricking on your forehead. The idea to the song came in my favorite place on earth while washing my hands in the ocean. I felt exhausted and lonely but in harmony with the elements we all once grew from.”
Nevertheless ‘Morgensol’ isn’t necessarily a happy song and even if you can’t understand the Danish lyrics you can still listen carefully and understand the song, thanks to the masterful instrumentation.
